Description
This 1999 Caterpillar 3412 diesel generator set is a heavy-duty industrial standby power system built for commercial, utility, and large-facility backup power applications. The unit is rated 750 kW standby / 938 kVA at 60 Hz, operating at 1,800 RPM, and produces 480V, three-phase power. With 946 original operating hours, this generator represents a strong opportunity to acquire a well-built Caterpillar package with moderate runtime.
The generator is powered by the proven CAT 3412 turbocharged diesel engine (Engine S/N: 2WJ02674) and is paired with a Caterpillar generator end featuring Class H insulation and a 6-wire reconnectable configuration, allowing both wye and delta voltage arrangements. Controls are provided through a Caterpillar EMCP II control panel, offering full system monitoring, alarms, and protective shutdowns.
This unit is housed in a weatherproof enclosed container with integrated louvers and airflow baffles and is mounted on a 1,000-gallon UL-listed double-wall base fuel tank with secondary containment, supporting extended runtime for critical installations. Electrical output is delivered through ABB SACE S6 molded-case circuit breakers.
The package includes a heavy-duty radiator and cooling system, dual turbochargers with air intake filtration, ground-fault protection panel, fuel/water separator, dual CAT spin-on fuel filters, jacket water heater, heavy-duty starting batteries, and automatic battery chargers.
Built on Caterpillar’s legendary 3412 platform, this generator is well-suited for manufacturing plants, utilities, commercial campuses, and infrastructure facilities requiring dependable 750 kW standby power.
