1996 CAT 3412 500kW Diesel Generator Set
This 1996 Caterpillar 3412 diesel generator set is a heavy-duty, low-hour standby power solution built for demanding industrial and commercial backup applications. Rated 500 kW / 625 kVA standby, this unit operates at 60 Hz, 1800 RPM, and produces 277/480V, 3-phase power with a full-load output of 752 amps.
The generator is powered by a Caterpillar 3412 diesel engine (S/N: 81Z20306) and is configured as an open skid / open power unit with an engine-driven radiator. This makes it ideal for customers planning a custom enclosure, containerized package, or indoor plant installation.
Electrical output is provided by a Caterpillar generator end with Class H insulation, delivering durability and thermal protection for mission-critical standby use. The unit is equipped with a factory CAT EMCP II digital control panel, offering system monitoring, fault diagnostics, protective shutdowns, and automatic engine protection.
This generator set features a factory 800-amp main breaker, jacket water heater, and heavy-duty filtration. As a pre-emissions / non-EPA regulated mechanical Caterpillar engine, it is well-suited for stationary standby applications, industrial facilities, export projects, and custom power modules.
The generator currently shows low original operating hours and has been professionally inspected and load tested. All of our generator sets are serviced and tested before shipment to ensure proper operation and readiness for installation.
