2026 Cummins DFEK 500kW Diesel Generator Set (ETA April 1, 2026)

This new Cummins DFEK diesel generator set is a modern industrial standby power system engineered for commercial, municipal, and mission-critical emergency power applications. The unit is rated 500 kW standby at 60 Hz, operating at 1,800 RPM, and produces 277/480V, three-phase power with a reconnectable alternator for flexible voltage configuration.

The generator is powered by a new Cummins QSX15-G9 diesel engine (Engine S/N: TBD) and is equipped with a permanent magnet generator (PMG) and a Cummins PowerCommand 2.3 digital control panel, providing full system monitoring, diagnostics, and protective shutdowns.

This package is housed in a Level 2 sound-attenuated enclosure with a 150 MPH wind rating, making it well-suited for outdoor stationary installation. The generator is mounted on an integrated 869-gallon UL-142 base fuel tank, supporting extended runtime. Cooling is provided by a high-ambient radiator rated for 50°C / 122°F operation.

The unit includes an electric start, a battery charger (ships loose), a full radiator cooling package, and factory electrical integration. Batteries and startup services are not included.

This generator is offered new with zero hours and includes a Cummins 2-year / 1,000-hour limited factory warranty. It is EPA Tier 2 certified for stationary emergency use, making it an excellent choice for facilities requiring a modern, code-compliant 500 kW standby generator.
