This 2001 Caterpillar 3512B diesel generator set is a large-frame industrial standby power system engineered for utilities, data centers, and heavy commercial backup applications. The unit is rated 1,500 kW / 1,875 kVA standby at 60 Hz, operating at 1,800 RPM, and produces 480V, three-phase power at 2,255 amps. The generator is configured as a 6-wire wye (star) machine and is equipped with a CAT SR4B alternator with Class H insulation.

The package is powered by the proven Caterpillar 3512B electronically controlled V12 diesel engine (Engine S/N: 8RM00674) and is equipped with a CAT EMCP digital control panel providing system monitoring, metering, alarms, and protective shutdowns. Electrical output is delivered through a Square D SE 2500A 3-pole electronic-trip main circuit breaker.

This unit is housed in a weatherproof enclosure and mounted on a massive 2,700-gallon UL-142 listed closed-top dike fuel tank, supporting extended runtime for critical installations. The cooling system features a large single-bore radiator with a belt-driven fan, and the package includes an engine pre-lube pump, Racor dual fuel filtration system, EnerGenius 24V battery charger, and full enclosure wiring and lighting. Protective coverings are installed over the turbocharger and air intake for added durability and safety.
