1996 CAT 3412 750kW Diesel Generator Set

This 1996 Caterpillar 3412 diesel generator set is a heavy-duty 750 kW standby power system built for large commercial and industrial backup applications. Powered by the proven CAT 3412 turbocharged diesel engine, this unit represents Caterpillar’s durable mechanical-era design and is well-suited for facilities requiring dependable prime-mover equipment.

The generator is rated 750 kW / 938 kVA standby at 60 Hz, 1,800 RPM, producing 480V, three-phase power. It is equipped with a Caterpillar EMCP II control panel providing system monitoring, metering, and protective shutdowns.

The control panel currently displays 822 operating hours. As part of MEG’s standard process, this generator will undergo a full inspection, service, and load bank test prior to shipment, and the final documented hours will be approximately 823 hours.

⚠️ Important Configuration Note:
The existing sound-attenuated enclosure is in poor condition and will be removed. This generator will be sold and delivered as an open-skid unit. Updated photos will be provided once the enclosure has been removed.

This generator package includes a 1200-amp main circuit breaker, battery charger, and jacket water heater, supporting proper standby readiness and cold-weather operation. The unit is mounted on a large integrated base fuel tank with an approximate capacity of 1,500 gallons, providing extended runtime capability.

As a pre-emissions / non-tier Caterpillar engine, this unit is well-suited for industrial, export, utility, and stationary standby applications where modern emissions compliance is not required.

Prior to shipment, this generator will be fully serviced, inspected, and load-tested by MEG technicians to ensure proper operation.
