2012 CAT C27 800kW Diesel Generator Set

This 2012 Caterpillar C27 diesel generator set is a low-hour, heavy-duty standby power system engineered for commercial, industrial, and institutional backup power applications. The unit is rated 800 kW / 1,000 kVA standby at 60 Hz, operating at 1,800 RPM, and produces 480V, three-phase power. With only ~280 original operating hours, this generator represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a late-model Caterpillar package with extremely light runtime.

The generator is powered by the proven CAT C27 diesel engine (Engine S/N: MJE02909) and is equipped with a CAT SR4B alternator with Class H insulation. Controls are provided through a Caterpillar EMCP 3.3 digital control panel, offering full system monitoring, metering, and protective shutdowns. Electrical output is delivered through a triple-breaker configuration, including two Schneider Electric PG800 molded-case main breakers and an auxiliary distribution breaker, allowing flexible high-capacity power distribution.

This unit is housed in a sound-attenuated aluminum enclosure with perforated acoustic interior panels and is built on a heavy steel base frame designed for containerized or stationary mounting. The cooling system features a heavy-duty radiator with oversized pull-through fan and motorized intake and discharge louvers. The package is further equipped with a 6,000-watt jacket water heater, EnerGenius automatic battery charger, dual premium air cleaners, multi-stage fuel filtration with priming pump, and full exhaust insulation blankets.

Additional features include an integrated interior electrical distribution panel, internal service lighting, and maintenance walkways for safe access.
