1999 CAT 3412 800kW Diesel Generator Set
This 1999 Caterpillar 3412 DITA diesel generator set is a heavy-duty 800 kW standby power system built for large industrial and commercial backup applications. According to Caterpillar TMI, this unit was factory built and tested on April 8, 1999, and is configured as a packaged standby genset.
The unit is rated 800 kW / 1000 kVA standby at 60 Hz, 1800 RPM, producing 480V, three-phase power. It is equipped with a Caterpillar SR4B generator end featuring Class H insulation and is housed in a sound-attenuated outdoor enclosure, making it suitable for stationary installation.
Power is provided by the proven CAT 3412 DITA turbocharged and aftercooled diesel engine. Controls are handled through a Caterpillar EMCP II control panel, and the package includes a modern UL-listed Cummins battery charger, engine-mounted charging alternator, automatic voltage regulation, and multiple internal circuit breakers with ground-fault protection.
This generator set is mounted on a heavy skid with an integrated 1500-gallon base fuel tank, supporting extended runtime for standby applications.
Per Caterpillar performance data, fuel consumption is approximately 57.9 gallons per hour at 100% load (800 kW), with strong efficiency at partial loads.
This unit is well suited for manufacturing facilities, utilities, processing plants, data centers, municipalities, mining operations, and other critical standby power applications.
